For more than 20 years, Conny Thieme has been passionately dedicated to macro underwater photography. Her focus is on the small and often overlooked creatures of the underwater world—fascinating subjects that many divers pass by without noticing.
Driven by curiosity and a constant desire to discover new subjects and techniques, she is particularly interested in innovative approaches such as fluorescence photography. Her working style combines patience, creativity, and technical precision, allowing her to capture extraordinary moments beneath the surface.
Using OM System cameras together with a variety of strobes and lighting systems, Conny creates images that reveal the hidden beauty of marine life in an authentic and captivating way. Her photographs not only showcase remarkable details but also tell the unique stories of the creatures she encounters.
With extensive diving experience in a wide range of underwater environments around the world, she has developed a keen eye for finding and photographing nature’s smallest wonders. Her inspiration comes from the quiet moments underwater and the incredible diversity of marine life.
